Manuscript settings describe the selected manuscript. They should stay close to the source text and avoid replacing project or book defaults.
- General stores language and manuscript chat availability. Writing > Typography selects or inherits the typography preset.
- Publishing controls let each field inherit the book value, override it for this manuscript, or clear it for this manuscript. Title can inherit or override only; it cannot be cleared.
- Writing > AI guidance controls add manuscript-specific instructions used when this manuscript is assistant context.
- Publishing > Cover art controls choose image assets used when this manuscript needs its own cover or title-page artwork.
- Voices controls let this manuscript inherit, override, or remove voice entries relative to the effective book/project voice settings.
If a setting should apply to every manuscript in a book, use book settings. If it should apply across the whole publishing effort, use project settings.
